The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad does special trips for kids every year based on the book The Polar Express. The trains leave from the Northside Station in Akron and end up at 'The North Pole' - The Peninsula Station. Yesterday morning when I woke up it was warm and dreary outside and I started to think about the North Pole - not all lite-up with actors dancing and Christmas Music playing - but in black and white and as un-festive as possible. I loaded my Minolta X-700 with Kodak Tri-X 400 and drove down there. I think I achieved the desolate, out-of-place look I was going for - there is something really interesting about the juxtaposition of these images - to me anyways.
'Welcome!' Tracks and Wreaths Christmas Caboose Vivian Maier Homage - gotta 'Where Waldo?' me. Frosty and Stuff Christmas Wrappings Crates Canes Leg Lamp?
I should head back here one evening and shoot this all light up with my camera just to show how different it looks. Going for a bum hangout look? 'Double Tracked' - wouldn't be me if I didn't take a track photo From my Sleigh
