I always love visiting New York City - there is just an energy there that I haven't quite felt anywhere else I've been. I've wanted to get back for a while. Erin ended up finding a really good deal on some plane tickets and then we found an Air BnB in Two Bridges that seemed cool and affordable.
We couldn't check into our place until early evening so we went to a breakfast spot Erin wanted to try and spent the morning/afternoon exploring Mid-Town.
The New York Public Library.
Such a beautiful building - there were a few cool exhibits too.
Erin and the original Winnie-the-Pooh stuffed animals.
Grand Central and the Chrysler Building.
Rockefeller Center - I love the look of New York's art deco era skyscrapers - it is iind of cool to see some of the new nodding to this style. Seems the glass-tower only era is finally over.

The amount of towers being built(and that have been recently built) in mid-town is amazing. The skyline is so different than even my last visit in 2013. Most of them are super-expensive residential buildings. Pencil thin and extremely tall. This part of mid-town is now referred to as Billionaire's Row.
Some of the older building from Central Park.
We started to work out way towards lower Manhattan with a quick walk through Times Square.
Though Times Square/mid-town aren't really either of our scene it is still worth walking through and being a tourist for a bit. Erin also found this cool coffee shop.
After we checked into our room we walked to get some dinner along the East River - the light was great. Brooklyn, Manhattan, Williamsburg Bridges.
Looking at Brooklyn.
Do I need to caption this for you?

We then strolled along the harbor.
One World Trade
Tired from out early flight and a bunch of walking we were ready for a fairly early bedtime.
