We spent our last full day in New York exploring Brooklyn. We both had a couple of spots we wanted to check out. Erin lived in Brooklyn and had spent most of her time there. She couldn't believe how much some of the neighborhoods had changed - or some areas where there hadn't really been anything before. Not to mention the glass towers that are now going up in Brooklyn too.
There was a whole train of vintage cars at the station we were boarding to head across the river. We didn't have the chance to figure out what was going on before our train arrived.
This was a coffee/bike shop we stopped in.
We rode the city bikes most of the time to get around - this was in a coffee shop on the edge of Williamsburg.
Cool Crafty Mart-like space we stopped into.
Fette Sau - this BBQ spot was amazing. Great food and a cool bar too.
Brooklyn Museum - they had exhibition of the photographer Garry Winogrand's color images that I really wanted to see. It didn't disappoint - amazing stuff.
Grand Army Plaza - for time visit here for me.
We went to Transmitter Park as the sun was setting - some of the best views of Manhattan are on the pier there.
We had dinner in a nearby restaurant that a friend had recommended and then ended are night at Bar Velo. It was a 1930-40s themed bicycle bar and I loved it. It was super dark in there but I tried to take some photos anyways. Everything about the place was cool.
Back to Manhattan for some much needed rest. Our plan was to get up early and go to Erin's favorite restaurant for breakfast.
