Erin manages the Countryside Conservancy Farmer's Market but did not have one on Saturday. She wanted to head up to Shaker Square to check out theirs. So we drove up to the North Union Farmers Market. We picked up some goodies and chatted with some of her friends but they didn't have any prepared food so next we headed off to get some lunch. Well, we got the ball rolling and ended up spending most of the day in Cleveland....
We ended up driving to get lunch at an old favorite of both of ours, Tommy's in Coventry.
"Well," we thought, "we are all the way up here - might as well grab a beer." So we drove over to Slavic Village and checked out the newish brewery Goldhorn.
You walked up this window if you wanted to order food - we had already eaten so I didn't really check out the options. I can say that they have a little work to do with their kitchen hood - as you might notice from the smokiness in some of these photos. It didn't really bother us though.
Triggering my 5D Mark IV with my iPhone again.
'The Beer List' - everything we had was really good. We each had a 12oz and then a sample. So all in all I sipped 4 beers - I would definitely recommend them.
It was a very big space - and there are a few more rooms in the back that could be built out for expansion or something else.
Their goal is to have a neighborhood vibe - the prices were nice too.
"Down the Bar"
There was a festival in Slavic Village that day so in anticipation of the large crowds they were serving out of plastic cups.
After our beers we decided to hit up the very new brewery in downtown on Superior - Masthead Brewing Co. It was cool to see a place in Downtown with a good crowd that was unrelated to sports or a special event.
Erin, chatting with a Cleveland friend - more on that soon.
"Taps"
"Brew House" - this was behind the main bar.
I love me a wood fired pizza - we will have to return another time to test them out.
Another very large brewery.
The beer I had(a red IPA) was very good - I enjoyed my sip of Erin's too(coffee stout).
Erin was texting with her friend who she used to work with - turns out she was working that day at Six Shooter Coffee in Collinwood. We hopped on the road, rounded Dead Man's Curve, and went for a visit.
"Sitting Room"
"Brick Gallery" - in the shop.
Erin said the drinks were good - I had a small sip but I don't drink caffeine after the morning.
So - we decided to make one more stop before heading home - The BottleHouse Brewing Company. Another spot we hadn't been. I've been to their newer Lakewood location though.
They are also a Meadery - I tried a sampler of a few.
Gotta love a brewery that has a vintage Colnago on the wall.
"Menus, Booze, and Bottles"
A tasty winter warmer.
This place had long been on my list - it was great to check it out.
...and with that we were back on our way to Akron.
